The transport system or wagon is driven and guided by counter-rotating runners (1) with stretched spiral threads, which engage with fixed or rotating rungs on each side rail of a track. The wagon has a left-hand threaded runner on the right side, and a right-hand threaded runner on the left side. The runners each engage with three of the equally spaced, horizontal rungs, which extend diagonally from each rail, and which taper conically towards their centres. The rungs may have their own switched drive network to rotate them at speeds according to the angular speeds of the runners. The wagon body has a funnel-shaped frontal attachment, leading into a channel (32) and a rear-mounted discharge for displaced air. The discharge is fitted with a guide to prevent vortices escaping towards the ground.
