<p>A port arrangement for transferring freight units (1), such as wheeled vehicles and goods on pallets, and possibly second-type freight units, such as containers and general goods placed on large-size pallets, on one hand from a storage (3b) or storage area on shore into a freight space of a ship, and respectively, on the other hand, from a storage space of the ship into a storage or storage area on shore. In the port arrangement, first-type freight units (1) are transferred with lifting frameworks (30) from a storage or storage area through freight handling apertures and further, to be each time at predetermined freight planes of a first freight space compartment (21), and along freight planes (11) at a desired location for transport. The lifting framework (30) is a unit with fixed structure in which a plurality of first-type freight units (1) can be positioned in vertical (H) direction and/or longitudinal (L) direction to the ship and/or the ship's transverse direction, and which includes elements in said loading planes (33) to reduce motion resistance, the purpose thereof being to enable transfer of said freight units mainly in horizontal direction, on one hand, for conveying said freight units (1) into the lifting framework (30) in the storage and taking it out within the range of said freight handling aperture (14) of the ship when loading the ship, and on the other hand, for conveying the freight units (1) into the lifting framework (30) within the range of said freight handling aperture (14) of the ship and removing therefrom when unloading within the storage (3b).</p> |
