<p>A silver halide photographic material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer and at least one non-light-sensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer provided on a support. The silver halide emulsion layer or the hydrophilic colloidal layer contains a dye represented by the formula (I): <CHEM> in which A<1> is an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an aryl group or a substituted aryl group; each of Q<1> and Q<2> is hydrogen, an alkyl group or a substituted alkyl group, or Q<1> and Q<2> are combined with each other to form a five or six-membered heterocyclic ring; Q<3> is hydrogen, a halogen atom, carboxyl, hydroxyl, methyl or methoxy; each of M<1> and M<2> is hydrogen, a metal atom or an atomic group that forms a monovalent cation; and p is 2, 3 or 4.</p> |
