<p>A gas separation membrane comprises a polymer having at least one unit derived from 2,6-difluorobenzophenone and an aromatic diol. Also claimed is a process for separating one or more gases from a gaseous mixt. comprising bringing the gaseous mixt. into contact with the first side of the above gas separation membrane in a manner to cause a portion of the mixt. to pass through the membrane to a permeate side, the resulting gas mixt. on the permeate side being enriched in one or more components over that of the mixt. on the first side. The polymer further comprises at least one unit derived from 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone, 4,4'-difluorodiphenylsulphone, and/or 1,3-bis(4-fluorobenzoyl)benzene. The aromatic diol is selected from 3,3'-di-t-butyl-4,4'-dihydroxy biphenyl; 4,4'-dihydroxy-3,3',5,5'-tetramethyl biphenyl; 4,4'-dihydroxy-2,2',3,3',5,5'-hexamethyl biphenyl; and/or tetramethyl bisphenol F.</p> |
