A length-adjustable column for chairs, tables or the like has a length-adjusting element (2) and an upright tube (1). The upright tube (1) is designed as a composite tube and has an outer tube (16) and an inner guide tube (5), these being connected to each other by means of support webs (18). Part-cylindrical surfaces (25), as guide surfaces for the cylindrical casing (4) of the length-adjusting element (2), are produced by machining on the inner surface (22) of the inner guide tube (5). <IMAGE> |
