<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the presence of an obstacle having the restricted height efficiently by providing anttenas having transmitting and receiving elements on a running vehicle, and providing an alarm control means. CONSTITUTION:Two antennas 3 (3A and 3B) to which reflectors 4 (4A and 4B) are attached are arranged at both sides on a roof carrier 2 of a vehicle 1. Light emitting and receiving devices 5 (5A and 5B) are fixed to the antennas 3. A main-body control part 6 including an alarm buzzer is provided in the vehicle. When the tip part of the antenna comes into contact with an obstacle on the road which is lower than the restricted height during the running of the vehicle 1 on the transporting road to be investigated beforehand, the antenna 3 is deflected. The forward facing direction of the reflector 4 is changed. The infrared rays emitted from the light emitting elements of the light emitting and receiving devices 5 are not reflected into the photodetector. The received light signal from the photodetector is not outputted into the control part 6. Then, an alarm is issued from a buzzer. In this way, the obstacle can be efficiently detected.</p> |
