The seal consists of a plate (15) which is articulated by its front end (19) to the rear edge of a forward follower shutter (5) and has its rear edge (17) pressing against the inner surface (9) of a rear follower shutter. The seal plate has a collar (23) to receive a locking bar (29) which has its two ends (31,33) pressing against the outer surfaces (9a,5a) of the rear and forward follower shutters respectively. The front end (9c) of the rear follower shutter is pinched between the seal plate and the locking bar and is able to slide axially.
