Quick cutting terminal contact

The self-stripping connection is for connecting conductors to a connecting strip in a terminal block comprising a plastic casing divided into compartments (12). Each compartment has a well (21) containing a screw (22), the threaded rod (25) and an opening (27) for the conductor. The opening joins with a slot (28) parallel to the edges (16'A,16'B) of the self-stripping contacts (16). The slot has lips (31,32) which are moulded with the casing and grip the conductor after being connected. The slot extends (29) without the lips above the contacts allowing the conductor to be withdrawn by simple force with for example a screwdriver. The height of the contacts is a multiple of the conductor diameter.
