The invention relates to a method for applying a metallic protective film onto a metallic substrate. Coated refractory/high-melting metal carbides are agglomerated with a bonding metal/alloy containing cobalt and molybdenum to form a sprayable powder. The powder applied to the substrate surface to be protected is then fused into the substrate surface, by application of a laser beam, in such a way that, while the substrate material and the bonding metal are fused almost completely, the coated refractory metal carbides, at least for the greater part, are not fused. |
