PURPOSE:To obtain the subject product excellent in abrasion resistance, high tenacity, cutting off properties, dimensional stability, etc., by stitching a web in the longitudinal and/or transverse directions with sewing threads and randomly entangling constituent fiber of the web in sewing thread bundles and between the bundles. CONSTITUTION:The objective product having a structure in which a web composed of synthetic fiber and/or natural fiber is stitched in the longitudinal and/or transverse directions with sewing threads and further an entangled structure wherein fiber constituting the aforementioned web is randomly entangled in the sewing thread bundles and between the bundles to unseparately integrate the web with the sewing threads. Furthermore, if conjugate fiber capable of being attenuated is used as the above-mentioned synthetic fiber, the objective product excellent in hand, strength, general-purpose properties, abrasion resistance, etc., is preferably obtained. A method for treating the web constituent fiber with a high-pressure fluid under 5-200kg/cm<2> pressure is preferred as a means for entangling the web constituent fiber with the sewing threads. |
