Deodorant cosmetic composition

A mixt. (I) with a pH less than 8, comprising the following components is useful as an active agent for selective redn. of coryneform bacteria: (A) lauric acid; (B) one or more 6-20 C straight chain satd. fatty acids, at least one of which has a chain length greater than 12 C atoms; and (C) glyceryl monocaprate and/or glyceryl monocaprylate. (I) contains no ethoxylated or propoxylated glyceryl fatty acid esters. The use of (I) as deodorants is also claimed.
