<p>PURPOSE:To provide a switching system consisting of a switch for switching a fixed length cell consisting of a header part and an information part, having absolutely minimum memory capacity and preventing the generation of cell loss due to the overwriting of a memory. CONSTITUTION:The switch for distributing cells read out from a 1st storage means 105 into plural highways to output them is constituted of the 1st storage means 105 for storing fixed-length cells inputted from plural highways, a 2nd storage means 103 for storing the idle addresses of the means 105 and a control means for controlling the writing and reading of the means 105 in accordance with the contents of the means 103. The control means manages the addresses of the means 105 in each cell destination highway. Since the loss of a cell is not generated, a large capacity switch appropriate for the switching of a signal with a high burst property can be economically constituted by the small quantity of hardware.</p> |
