PURPOSE:To reduce a time loss by returning a scanner to a home position while the scanning of a 1st original is finished and the original is replaced with a succeeding original when the original is sent onto an original platen manually. CONSTITUTION:The scanning processing when an original is set manually is finished when a scanner 41 passes through home position sensors SHPS 2, 3. The size of the original is detected by an original size sensor on the original platen 2 and the end of scanning processing is decided through which of the sensors SHPS 2, 3 the scanner passes. When the scanner 41 passes through any sensor, a rotation direction of a scanner motor SM is switched and the scanner 41 is returned and the speed of the motor SM is decreased to 1/4 when the scanner passes through the sensor SHPS 11 and stops after a prescribed distance of running. The stopped position is a feed side home position. The original is scanned while being moved in the feed direction and the scanner is returned to the home position at the end of scanning. |
