ULTRA-STRONG PACKING BAND AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a thin and lightweight ultra-strong packing bank having high strength, the high modulus of elasticity and creep resistance by integrally bonding an accumulated material to an oriented tape and/or a net like web with tensile strength of a specific value or more and the tensile modulus of elasticity of a specific value or more composed of ultra-high mol.wt. polyolefin with intrinsic viscosity of a specific value or more. CONSTITUTION:An ultra-high mol.wt. polyolefin powder with intrinsic viscosity (measured in a decalin soln. at 135 deg.C) of 5dl/g or more is subjected to compression molding in a solid phase state and subsequently subjected to rolling molding to be formed into a sheet which is, in turn, stretched. The compd. after orientation has tensile strength of 12g/denier or more and the tensile modulus of elasticity of 200g/denier or more. The orienting material is formed into a tape or slitted before or after orientation to obtain an oriented tape or a net like web. An adhesive 3 is applied or laminated to the gathered element of the oriented tapes or the net like webs 2 or a powder is bonded thereto and the coated gathered element is subjected to pultrusion by a pultrusion die to be integrated.
