PURPOSE:To provide an optical network capable of uniformalizing a transmission loss between a master and a slave stations and increasing the number of slave stations. CONSTITUTION:Each branch is constituted as a three-terminal optical circulator 10 forming three terminals A to C and provided with a forward transmission characteristic from the terminal A to the terminal B and from the terminal B to the terminal C, a master station side optical fiber is connected to the terminal C, an optical fiber on the opposite side of the master station is connected to the terminal A, and a slave station is connected to the terminal B through a variable reflection optical distributor 9 for distributing signal light into passing light and reflected light at a variable distribution rate. A distribution rate control means 11 for controlling the distribution rate of the distributor 9 is provided in order to chance the ratio of optical instensity on the terminal G between signal light made incident from the terminal A and projected from the terminal C and signal light sent from the slave station and projected from the terminal C. |
