PURPOSE:To prevent a exposure time of document illuminating light from exceeding maximum allowable exposure time so as to eliminate danger to the eyes of an operator without needlessly decreasing the productivity of a device. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with the switching condition detecting means 5 of a platen cover 3, an exposure operating time measuring means 6 measuring the operating time of an exposing means 4 in a state where the cover 3 is opened, a time frame setting means 8 setting a time frame by which the integrated value of the exposure operating time is accumulated, and an exposure operating controlling means 9 controlling the illuminating operation on a document 1 by means of the means 4 in the state where the cover 3 is opened detected by the means 5 in the case of the integrated value by means of the means 7 exceeds the previously fixed allowable value in the set time frame. Furthermore, a restriction releasing means 10 and a restriction releasing stand-by means 11 with respect to the means 9 are provided and a display means 12 for displaying the conditions of respective means 9 to 11 are provided. |
