<p>PURPOSE:To enable an active matrix liquid crystal display device to make the voltage to be applied on a thin film transistor low by making the voltage to be applied on the liquid crystal high. CONSTITUTION:This active matrix liquid crystal display device consists of a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal 107 held between the substrates. The liquid crystal 107 is switched by two thin film transistors 106 and 114. In this case, the voltage to be applied on the liquid crystal 107 is halved and applied on the two thin film transistor 106 and 114, so that relatively high voltage can be applied on the liquid crystal 107 compared to the breakdown strengths of the two thin film transistors 106, 114. Thus, the thin film transistors 106 and 114 can be operated in an area little in OFF current.</p> |
