PURPOSE: To apply cleaning quantity of enough quantity to let an unconnected indicator recognized from a reading zone of a test element by comparing result of cleaning at a first and a second reading positions of the test element. CONSTITUTION: A test element E is pushed to a station 44 of a rotor 4 to be incubated for a specified period. The test element E is then pushed from an incubator 40, it is carried to a cleaning station 70, and a specified quantity of cleaning liquid is applied to the test element E. The test element E is returned on a shuttle to an application station 30, and it is reinserted into a station 44. The station 44 is rotated in a direction of an arrow 42 till it coincides with a reflection gauge, and reading of optical density is read at a first reading position. Next, after the test element E is moved to an offset position, it is moved to a reading station 50, or favorably to a second reading position, where the optical density is read. The optical density or read ratio at the first reading position and the second reading position is then compared, thereby if a cleaning process is acceptable or not is determined. |
