SURFACE MATERIAL FOR MAGNETIC CARD, AND MAGNETIC CARD

PURPOSE:To remove the tendency to warp of a telephone card and to enable bonding of a flexible sheet by providing a bonding agent of thermoplastic resin on the rear of the flexible sheet. CONSTITUTION:A surface material 2 is obtained by a method wherein a bonding agent layer 22 of thermoplastic resin of which the bonding temperature is 100 to 150 deg.C and the thickness 5 to 100mum is provided on the rear of a flexible sheet 21 of which the rigidity is much smaller than that of the main body l of a magnetic card. The bonding agent layer 22 of thermoplastic resin of the surface material 2 is put on the surface (the opposite side to the side to be brought into contact with a magnetic head at the time of reading) of the main body l of the magnetic card and subjected to pressure and heating by a press, whereby the magnetic card is manufactured. In the case when the flexible sheet 21 of the surface material 2 is paper, printing is made beforehand on the paper.
