PURPOSE:To provide a thin electrochemical element with easy production process by pressing positive current collecting plates and negative current collecting plates with a pressing block to electrically connect current collecting plates themselves with same polarity by pressing force. CONSTITUTION:A metal outer jacket can case 1 is sealed with a cover 2, a positive current collecting plate 6 and a negative current collecting plate 7 drawing out from a positive electrode plate 3 and a negative electrode plate 4 respectively are pressed by a cover pressing block 7 and a case pressing block 11b. By pressing force, the current collecting plates 6, 7 with the same polarity are electrically connected. Job for welding the current collecting plates themselves is made unnecessary to reduce the number of production processes. A PTC element 14 is arranged inside the cover 2 by separating it from an electrolyte, and one electrode 14a of the element 14 is brought into contact with the cover 2 and the other electrode 14b is brought into contact with the current collecting plate 7 to reduce the internal resistance of a battery and to enhance the responding capability to heat generation to enhance safety. |
