IMAGE INFORMATION CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To convert a supplied image signal into an image signal with higher resolution. CONSTITUTION:An SD image supplied to an area division circuit 2 is divided into a prescribed area and fed to an ADRC circuit 3 and a delay circuit 8. Similarly an area division circuit 4 receiving the SD image is divided into a larger range by the area division circuit 2 and the result is fed to a motion class decision circuit 5. A class code generating circuit 6 receives an area pattern from an ADRC circuit 3 and a motion class mv-class from a motion class decision circuit 5 and generates an integrated final class code class. A ROM table 7 reads coefficient data based on the class code class fed from the class code generating circuit 6 and gives the data to an estimate arithmetic circuit 9. The estimate arithmetic circuit 9 conducts vertical interpolation based on the supplied coefficient data and the picture element. Similarly, a horizontal interpolation filter 10 conducts horizontal interpolation and an HD image is extracted.
