PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject device which can surely catch and clamp or release the end of a weft by cooperating the sidewall of a hook disposed in a cramp body with a movable edge through an elastic blade. SOLUTION: In this filling end catching/clamping system in the filling drive clamp of a loom, a wedge 4 designed to axially move is elastically pressed and held to the sidewalls 3', 3" of a hole 3 for forming a hook 2 disposed on one side of a cramp body 1, and the sidewall 4' of the wedge 4 and the sidewall 3' facing the sidewall 4' together form a narrow V-shaped hole 5. An elastic blade 8 which comprises an elastic thin plate laminate and reaches the tip of the V-shaped hole 5, is extended beyond the tip, or is ended at a place below the tip is supported with the wedge 4 or the clamp body 1. When the end 6 of a weft is inserted into the V-shaped hole 5, the elastic blade 8 is displaced by the thickness of the weft to separate from the sidewall 3', and the end 6 of the weft is inserted into the V-shaped hole 5 until to be fixed, and tightened. When the cramp 1 is separated from the edge of a woven fabric during a weaving operation, the wedge 4 is backward moved to release the weft end 6 from its fastening. |
