PURPOSE:To easily generate a three dimensional shape by an interactive operation and an automatic processing from two-dimensional graphic data by generating the three dimensional shape of a closed plane by adding height data to the extracted closed plane and synthesizing the generated three dimensional shape of the closed plane. CONSTITUTION:When the two-dimensional graphic data are read by a graphic data read means 6, a graphic element elimination means 3 eliminates graphic elements other than line segments and circular arcs from the read two-dimensional graphic data, an intersection computing means 3 obtains all the intersections of the line segments and the circular arcs and then, an edge computing means 3 divides the line segments and the circular arcs at the intersections and obtains edges. Then, the closed plane for constituting a graphic is extracted in a closed plane extraction means 3. When the extraction of all the closed planes is completed in such a manner, a means for generating three dimensional shape of closed plane generates the three dimensional shape of the closed plane based on the height data of the closed plane inputted by an operator through a data input means 7 by the interactive operation and a three dimensional shape synthesis means 3 synthesizes the generated three dimensional shape of the closed plane. |
