SHIFT REGISTER AND DRIVING CIRCUIT OF DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide a driving circuit of a matrix type display device having shift registers which are not hindered in signal transmission by generation of defects in these shift registers. CONSTITUTION:This shift registers have four systems of the shift registers 211 to 214 for bidirectional scan and normal/redundancy line. The shift registers of the respective systems are divided to each of respective blocks and are provided with transmission circuits 280 therebetween. These transmission circuits 280 constitute switching circuits by using transfer gates. The transmission circuits 280 receive the output signals from the shift registers of both of the normal/redundancy lines and output only the normal output signals to the shift register 211b, 212b side of the ensuing stages according to control signals.
