PURPOSE:To simplify the map display and to use it as an address book by obtaining the latitude and the longitude of the location from names of prefecture, city, street and block of the address information and acquiring the map picture information from the latitude and the longitude information. CONSTITUTION:When a processing selection means 108 starts an address book storage means 102 by the input of a direction from an input means 101, an address book can be inputted in the form of prefecture, city, street, block and address number. In this case, an address data conversion means 103 converts the address data into the latitude and the longitude data and stores them in the means 102. When an information display control means 106 is started, a map information retrieval means 105 retrieves map picture information based on the longitude and the latitude data of the position selected from the address book data and the longitude and the latitude data calculated by a position detection means 104 and the map picture data is generated. Otherwise, the map picture data to which a present location mark is composed is generated and displayed. |
