PURPOSE:To provide the handwritten character input method which can naturally input handwritten characters and is convenient for an operator. CONSTITUTION:Corresponding to the direction of the character string of handwritten characters, the shape of a character input frame displayed on a screen for describing the handwritten characters is changed. The information of whether the character string to be inputted is laterally written or vertically written is inputted to a character frame shape instructing part 25 and when the character string is vertically written, the vertical character input frame is selected but when the character string is laterally written, the lateral character input frame is selected by an image generating part 23 and displayed on a display part 24. The operator handwrites and inputs characters inside the displayed character input frame while using a handwriting input part 21. |
