PURPOSE:To make application display on character strings indicating text. CONSTITUTION:A center 1 has a musical piece data base 3 in which text data on many pieces of music are stored. This center transmits the text data to a terminal 2 which requests the text data. This terminal 2 detects agate control characters in an agate information separating section 4 and separates these characters to the character strings indicating the text and the character strings indicating the agates. A character position calculating section 7 calculates the top coordinate positions of the character strings indicating the text by the information supplied from this agate information separating section 4, counts the number of the agate control characters existing before the agates and the number of the agates, calculates the display coordinate positions of the agates and outputs these positions to a line layout section 8. A character developing section 5 develops the character codes supplied from the agate information separating section 4 to the characters by referring to font data 6 and outputs these characters to the line layout section 8. The line layout section 8 outputs the text to a display device 10 while laying out the agates to adequate positions by utilizing a temporary memory section 9 and has the text with the agates displayed. |
