PURPOSE:To obtain a compact and thin piezoelectric ceramic transformer by forming plural stripe electrodes on a major surface of the piezoelectric ceramic and applying polarization processing to parts between the stripe electrodes thereby satisfying high power and high reliability simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:Striped electrodes 11 are arranged on th surface of an inactive photoelectric conversion element ceramic 10. The length of the electrodes 11 is selected to be the entire length of the interdigital electrodes to be formed or over. Electric terminals 12, 13 connected alternately electrically are extracted from the stripe electrodes 11 and a polarization voltage Vpole is applied to the terminals. After the polarization processing, the terminals 12, 13 and the stripe electrodes 11 are removed. Then interdigital electrodes 14, 15 opposite to each other are formed at a low temperature below the Curie point. In this case, electrode fingers 16, 18 of the interdigital electrodes 14, 15 are formed in matching with the position of the original stripe electrodes 11. A high polarization voltage is not applied between the interdigital electrodes 14, 15 opposite to each other and the part between them has only to be insulate against a comparatively low voltage in th case of operation as the piezoelectric ceramic transformer. |
