Folder (3) suitable for storing files, enabling them to be simply piled onto a plane surface (4). This type of folder enables the documents it contains to be conveniently located by effectively and permanently displaying a marking. The files so stored, accumulate together, under their own weight, on inclined shelves (4). An identification area (1) delimited by the stop (2) provided on the folder enables the files to be visually located. An example of the file of the present invention consists of a simple folder including on its upper face or cover (13), and on one of its sides (12), a stop element in the form of a folding strip (2) or tab, the inner side or base consisting of a material enhancing the sliding properties thereof.
