ERROR DIFFUSION CIRCUIT OF DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To solve the problem that pseudo-patterns are generated by switching the weighted coefficients of error diffusion for every frame. CONSTITUTION:In the error diffusion circuit where the video error detection output multiplied by an error weighted coefficient is added to the video-input signal to obtain the diffusion output signal which is outputted with a certain number of bits smaller than those of the video input signal to give a pseudo- halftone display, error weighted coefficients are switched between the odd number frames and the even number frames to eliminate generation of pseudo- patterns caused by error diffusion processing by the method that the error detection circuit 35 is connected to the error weighted value setting circuit 39 which uses the output of the noise signal generation circuit to randomly generate '1' and '0' and thereby differentiate the coefficient corresponding to '1' from that corresponding to '0' for each dot.
