PURPOSE:To attain the control of the outgoing light quantity of a multi-channel semiconductor laser without newly adding an optical system such as a condensing lens to an optical pickup or accurately positioning a photodetector for detecting the outgoing light quantity of the laser. CONSTITUTION:The controller for the outgoing light quantity of the multi-channel semiconductor laser 1 is furnished in an optical disk device, and the control is made by a 1st control part 20 for the outgoing light quantity so that the absolute light quantities of the laser beams (a).(b).(c) of individual lasers 1a.1b.1c constituting the multi-channel semiconductor laser 1 become a prescribed light quantity. Then, the control is made by a 2nd control part 21 for the outgoing light quantity so that the individual light quantities of the laser beams (a).(b).(c) of each individual laser 1a.1b.1c become equal. As the result, each outgoing light quantity of the laser beams (a).(b).(c) becomes a prescribed outgoing light quantity. |
