The spectacles have two lenses (2a) and a frame (17a) made from relatively rigid rods, with the side-pieces and nose bridge of the frame attached to the lens by means of holes (30) made close to the edges of the lenses and fixings (31) on the rod ends (32). At least a part of the frame is made from titanium, gold, silver or iron rod. The fixing for the frame rod end in each lens holes can be in the form of a threaded tip (32) on the rod fastened by a nut (31) or an adhesive. The side piece hinges can be in the form of coils of rod on a bracket with two ends fixed to the outer edge of each lens, and the nose bridge is in the shape of an arch with pads, fastened in the same way.
