PURPOSE:To realize an electronic clock which uses a small and thin thermionic element. CONSTITUTION:A first insulator 101 which is constituted of silicon is set on the heat-absorbing side, and a second insulator 102 which is constituted of silicon is set on the heat-dissipating side. Then, when a temperature difference is given in such a way that a temperature on the heat-absorbing side becomes high as compared with that on the heat-dissipating side, heat is transmitted in the direction to the insulator 102 from the insulator 101. At this time, electrons in an n-type semiconductor 103 are moved in the direction to the insulator 102 on the heat-dissipating side. Holes in a p-type semiconductor 104 are moved in the direction to the insulator 102 on the heat-dissipating side. Since the n-type semiconductor 103 and the p-type semiconductor 104 are connected electrically in series via a connection part 105, the conducted heat is converted into a current, and an electromotive force can be obtained across output-end parts 106. In addition, the electromotive force is stored in an electricity storage means 108. A time display means 109 is operated by the electromotive force from the electricity storage part 108. |
