PURPOSE:To precisely stop a focusing optical system in a desired position in a short period of time regardless of the attitude of a lens barrel. CONSTITUTION:This focusing device includes the focusing optical system L2 in the lens barrel and focuses in such a manner that the focusing optical system L2 is moved in an optical axial direction. This device is provided with driving parts 113 and 114 driving the focusing optical system L2 in the optical axial direction, a driving direction detecting part 115 detecting the driving direction of the optical system L2, a lens barrel attitude detecting part 118 detecting the attitude of the lens barrel, a driving control part (CPU 110) changing the parameter of driving control, to control the driving parts 113 and 114, based on the outputs of the driving direction detecting part 115 and the lens barrel attitude detecting part 118. |
