PURPOSE:To cut description amount of a user program in an appearance inspection apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A system program includes an executing/processing part which executes data of a plurality of kinds of inspection items and data of each inspection item. Inspection item data DTu of a user program Pu are stored in area At as an inspection item memory. A scheduler 13 selects the inspection item data DTu in the area At in a predetermined procedure, and delivers the data to the executing/processing part to execute an inspection. Since the inspection item data DTu of the user program Pu are executed at the executing/processing part of the system program, it is not necessary for the user program Pu to describe an execution process for the inspection item data DTu. The description amount in the user program Pu is thus reduced.
