SINTERED TYPE CADMIUM NEGATIVE ELECTRODE FOR ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To manufacture a sintered type cadmium negative electrode for alkaline storage battery in which inactivation of active material is restrained by coating carbon-polyvinylpyrolidine mixture on a surface of a porous sintered substrate in which active material composed of cadmium hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:Mixed solution composed of carbon and polyvinylpyrolidine and solvent is coated on a porous sintered substrate in which active material composed of cadmium hydroxide or dipped the substrate in the solution to coat the mixed solution of carbon and polyvinylphrolidine on a surface of the substrate. Whereby, a sintered type cadmium negative electrode for alkaline storage battery having improved cycle characteristics can be provided even under hard condition such as high rate charge and discharge.
