摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To prevent the size of integrated circuit from increasing even if the number of memory cell is increased by comparing the total number of bits of an input data pattern with a required threshold value thereby determining a program mode. CONSTITUTION: A second comparison circuit 120 compares the bit pattern DQna of a memory cell 111a in an integrated memory circuit 100 with an input data pattern and a corresponding corrected input pattern D1na determines the bit in pattern DQna requiring the programming. Similarly, a summation circuit 122 calculates the number of bits requiring the programming based on corrected input patterns D1na, D1nb for a memory cell 110b. A first comparison circuit 118 compares the calculated value with the number of bits N of cells 110a, 110b and first to third mode control signals are determined depending on the fact that the calculated value is larger than N, lower than N and equal to 0. The memory cell is then programmed according to the determined mode and unnecessary increase in the size of integrated circuit is prevented even if the number of memory cell is increased by suppressing increase of drain pump.</p>
