PURPOSE:To provide an automatic focus detector capable of accurately deciding whether an object is a dynamic one or not regardless of a degree of photographing magnification. CONSTITUTION:The automatic focus detector is provided with a focus detecting means 1 repeatedly detecting the focus deviation amount of a lens with respect to a subject to be focused, an output means 2 outputting the information of the photographing magnification (beta), a dynamic body deciding means 3 comparing the result of the focus detection outputted by the focus detecting means 1 with a prescribed decision level, to decide whether the object is the dynamic one or not and a switching means 4 changing over the decision level used for the deciding operation of the dynamic body deciding means 3 in accordance with the information of the photographing magnification (beta) outputted from the output means 2. |
