The invention relates to a hoist and traction machine provided with a load sheave (3), a driving shaft (5) for driving the load sheave (3), a driven member (7), a driving member (8) mounted on the shaft (5), a mechanical brake arrangement (13), and an operating lever (16) for operating the driving member (8) in a forward or reverse direction. The operating lever (16) is mounted for pivotal movement with respect to a cover (13a) of the brake (13) by means of a sleeve (121) received in co-axial apertures (114, 115) of the cover (13a) and a mounting plate (16a) of the lever (16). The sleeve is provided with a flange (122) and a retaining ring (125), and the lip portions (127) of the aperture (126) of the brake cover (13a) may preferably be folded or rolled over to provide a bearing surfaces against margins of the aperture (115). <IMAGE> |
