The automatic striker consists of an articulated sheath (2), in which one rests the fishing rod (24). The sheath carries a stem (1), shaped in the form of a U, which attaches the spring (19). A cube (3) is fixed to the sheath and is pierced by a hole (27), with an axis (5), fitted to rotate within the hole. A hangar (4) is also fixed to the sheath and carries the latch (12), in the form of a lever, with one end bent in the form of a hook and the other end with an eye loop to allow the latch to rotate on axis (11). When the fish bites and the tension in the line increases, the balance of the arm (14) is disturbed form the set position, maintained by the position of the balance weights (15,16). Movement of the balance arm releases the spring (19) to act to pull the rear end of the fishing rod downwards to cause the rod to effect a strike to hook the fish.
