PURPOSE:To realize high output and high capacitance density, by a method wherein an electrode layer contains a high capacitance electrode layer part which is formed thick and has large discharge capacitance and a high output electrode layer part which is formed thin and has small resistance. CONSTITUTION:Sheet electrode layers are bonded on both surfaces of a collector 2 having a lead part 1 by using carbon based conducting adhesive agent, and then electrode layers 3, 3' of about 0.3mm in thickness are formed on both sides of the collector 2 by a rolling process. The sheet-electrode layer is composed of PTFE(polyztetrafluoroethylene), carbon black and active carbon powder. A slurry which is a mixture of carbon black and active carbon powder in PTFE suspension containing PTFE as solid matter is spread on both surfaces of the collector 2 having the lead part 1. After drying, electrode layers 3, 3' of about 0.02mm in thickness are formed on both sides of the collector 2 by a rolling process. Thereby, as compared with the conventional electric double layer capacitor, large discharge capacity can be ensured and excellent output characteristics can be obtained. |
