PURPOSE:To reduce the fatigue on aging and to stably maintain the activity of a developer by providing a means for removing gaseous carbon dioxide from the air in or close to the automatic developing machine. CONSTITUTION:The waste liq. overflowing a developing part is accumulated in a storage tank 20, then sent to a tank 30 by a bellows pump 22 and sent to the liq. absorbing carrier 40 by a pump 32 to be absorbed by the liq. absorbing carrier 40 from a nozzle 34. The carrier 40 contains a gaseous carbon dioxide absorbent, and the air freed from gaseous carbon dioxide is sent close to the surface of a developer by the nozzle 36 in an automatic developing machine. A PS plate is passed through a developing part, prerinsing part (cleaning part), finisher part and drying part and discharged. Meanwhile, the PS plate is transported by rollers R1 to R4. The fatigue of the developer on aging is reduced by providing such a gaseous carbon dioxide removing means. Besides, an alkali soln. of the gaseous carbon dioxide absorbent is used, and an aq. soln. contg. the developer or a waste water from a cleaning stage are also used. |
