PURPOSE:To provide a method and an apparatus for recognizing parts, which can recognize the parts at a high speed in high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A template comprising a plurality of points is automatically formed based on part data stored beforehand (SP1). The correlation value of the template and the image of the part, which is the object under inspection is computed, and the pattern matching of both the template and the image is performed (SP2). Thus, the position and the angle of the part are recognized and identified. When the template is formed, two template points are provided for each lead of the part. |
