<p>PURPOSE:To provide a specimen containing much mucus and cellular component which is made easily perceptible with naked eye, by preparing a cytodiagnostic marker as a mixture of an opaque poster color, an alcohol, and cane sugar. CONSTITUTION:A cytodiagnostic marker is prepared from an opaque poster color, to which 20-40X alcoholic solution for giving the resultant marker a quick drying property and 2-5% cane sugar as a diffusion preventive agent for alcohol are added. If a commercially available poster color which is transparent is used, a specimen containing much mucus and/or cellular component transmits light to weaken the reflected light, and the specimen becomes hard to see. An alcoholic solution content below 20% results in the marker being hard to dry, while exceeding 40% causes the poster color to be hard to dissolve. A sugar concentration over 5% drops the quick drying property, while below 2% is not able to prevent the marker from dispersion. If the cell examination marker of this composition presenting bright yellow is used, cells appear as distinct spots, see (1) in the attached illustration. If a transparent poster color is used, the reflected light remains weak and the backdrop is at the same degree as the object, which is thus not easily perceptible, see (2).</p> |
