Carbon fiber pellets having improved flow characteristics are prepared by mixing chopped carbon fibers with a solution or suspension of a sizing agent , shaping the agglomerated mixture on a tilted rotating surface to provide den se pellets of streamlined shape and drying the pellets. The carbon fiber pellet s are especially suitable for use in the manufacture of reinforced thermoplast ic resins.
