Hydraulic striker hammer mechanism

The hydraulic striker hammer has a housing (10) which has a pressure conduit (24) and a return flow conduit (25). A work cylinder (11) is formed in the housing in which a work piston (12) is movable, which alternately exerts forwardly directed strokes on an insert end (13) and return strokes. In a control cylinder (22) a control piston (21) is movable, which is controlled dependent upon the position of the work piston, and for its part controls the fluid feed to the work cylinder (11). A pretensioned support device is movable dependent upon pressure and acts on the control piston. The support device (56) only allows the movement of the control piston in a position corresp. to a rapid backward stroke of the work piston when the pressure force operating the control piston in the first position exceeds the tension force of the support device.
