<p>A label separator (30) separates labels (16) from a backing (14). An infeed mechanism (60, 62) moves the labels (16) in a downstream direction through a label path toward a breaker bar (64). A push member (96) is moveable from a first position (124) to a second position (126) through a path which intersects the label path whereby the push member (96) intersects the leading end (26) of the backing (14) in the label path and directs the backing out of the label path, around the breaker bar (64) and to one side of the push member (96) while the label (16) continues along the label path on another side of the push member (96).</p> |
