<p>A system (10) for moving yarn (31) under substantially constant tension, including a translationally-fixed pivoting device (42), having a neutral position, for applying tension to a yarn (31), and a variable-speed yarn drive (48) for moving the yarn across the pivoting device (42). The rotational position of the pivoting device (42) is determined in relation to its neutral position, and in response, the speed of the yarn drive (48) is altered to move the pivoting device (42) closer to its neutral position for maintaining a relatively constant tension of the yarn (31).</p> |
