Hollow cylinder for use as winding core, mail container etc

The hollow cylinder (W) has a jacket wall (1) which can be opened at an opening point (K). The wall consists of separate wall sectors (1',1",1"',1"") of different curvature gradients, linked at pivot points (S) and coupled together by a ring (R), so that the cylinder can be opened out and closed again. The endfaces (2) of the wall sectors are supported against each other in the closed position. The pivot points are formed from adhesive tape (4) on the outside (5) of the wall. Each wall section may consist of one part curved through 90 deg. and a straight-line part.
