PURPOSE:To simply and accurately compensate a reference value by installing an acceleration sensor an a vehicle, arranging a vehicle horizontally in a still state, and writing an output value from a sensor into a memory for reference value. CONSTITUTION:At shipping inspection after vehicle assembly, a vehicle is placed still on a horizontal place, and, an output value from art acceleration sensor 52 at the position is written into a memory. The memory is provided inside of an electronic control device 3, and the output value from the acceleration sensor 52 is written by write signal of the memory. Ordinarily, relating to a memory, a non-volatile digital memory is used, and, the voltage value outputted from the acceleration sensor 52 is A/D converted into a digital value, and given the write signal for writing. When the acceleration sensor is placed deviating from horizontality, in the case the vehicle is horizontal and still, the output value is deviated from the specified value written in the memory. Then, by setting a reference point on the deviating value, the output value from the acceleration sensor 52 is compensated.
